Toshiba has just released a new range of colour Multi-Function Devices (MFD), the e-STUDIO
5520c/6520c/6530c series, which combines high-speed colour printing, accelerated functionality and environmental harmony.
“The e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c MFD’s are robust full colour devices delivering fast consistent output coupled with outstanding image quality for high volume departmental use,” said Peter Parry, National Marketing Manager for Toshiba Australia Pty Limited (TAP).
“Demand for higher speed colour in the office has been growing around the world. Toshiba engineers have developed an exceptional product which delivers the fastest office colour MFD available today. Based on Human Centric design these new modules are truly outstanding” he said.
With a 70-second warm-up time from low-power mode, the new series has been engineered to meet strict environmental standards while still delivering impressive performance. The new range is built in ISO14001 compliant facilities and perform to meet or exceed global standards like Energy Star, RoHS and the German Blue Angel.
Environmental impact has been a key element in the creation of this range
Reduced energy consumption and improved manufacturing and procurement practices ensure Toshiba’s commitment to the environment is maintained.
Toshiba’s twin Induction Heating (IH) combined with programmable sleep modes provide just a few of the sensible environmental efficiencies built into this MFD range. Infact, no RoHS designated substances are used in the construction of the range. Additionally, use of recyclable materials is also being promoted to further reduce the “environmental footprint”.
Built around Human Centric design concept
The e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c is the latest in the line of Toshiba’s e-STUDIO MFDs to be built around seven core design elements and is the fastest business colour device on the market today.
With a First Copy Out Time (FCOT) of just 5.3 seconds in monochrome (BW) and 6.5 seconds in colour, the
e-STUDIO5520c/5530c/6530c series are built to perform. The e-STUDIO5520c offers an output speed of 55 colour/55 BW pages per minute (ppm); the e-STUDIO6520c delivers 65 colour/65 BW ppm, while the e-STUDIO6530c boasts 65 ppm in full colour and 75 ppm BW. All devices scan at an amazing 77spm at 300dpi in both colour and BW.
High Quality performance is achieved both through the introduction of newly developed low temperature fusing toner and a new engine that is designed to provide stable image quality for both small and high volume jobs. The “Hi Image” colour toner is made with smaller (6.8 micron) particles. This ensures excellent, smooth reproduction of photos and halftones, with superb colour fidelity.
Delivering unsurpassed image quality, Toshiba engineers developed a new ASIC called e-FINE Image Processing Engine technology. e-FINE technology dramatically improves contrast and colour discrimination in all areas. This shows especially in superior edge clarity with difficult images automatically managed to optimise the output.
The new 4 beam laser coupled with the 3rd generation e-BRIDGE architecture features a 1200 dpi postscript printing function. This mode delivers crisp line and text work ideally suited for CAD images whereas the 600 dpi (8 bit) mode delivers amazing photographic-like images. Designed in Toshiba’s Sydney R&D headquarters for global distribution, the proprietary “Redback” Raster Image processor (RIP) drives the e-STUDIO colour range. A new optional EFI controller will also be available later in the year.
Security
The e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c vastly improve management of access privilege levels and combine a host of security measures such as IEEE802.1X LAN user authentication, IPSec protocol and IP/MAC address filtering to prevent malicious access and tampering.
Combined with Secure PDF 128-bit encryption scanned documents can easily be protected from tampering as with the HDD Encryption 128bit AES which is standard with the unit. Furthermore, an optional Disk Data Overwrite Kit completely overwrites all temporary information on the hard drive after every job. In addition, the disk is automatically cleared immediately after the device is done using the information after every job, preventing the data from being recovered by unauthorised users.
The e-STUDIO5520c/6520c/6530c is available NOW through Toshiba’s direct branch and network of dealers across Australia, New Zealand and the South West Pacific rim
